Raiders VS Broncos :TALE OF THE TAPE

Posted: September 28, 2012 in Raiders News

Here we go with Bronco week. This one will be in Denver and if history is on our side that’s a good thing. We all remember the fantastic game 2 years ago in Mile High with the very close score of Raiders 59 Broncos 14. We all pretty much know that’s not going to happen again hell last time Raiders played the Broncos Tim Tebow beat up on the Raiders remember that guy? Let’s get right into the tale of the tape.

STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES — Raiders have won last four meetings in Denver, outscoring Broncos 133-63. Raiders have also won six of last eight overall meetings. … Raiders coach Dennis Allen was Broncos defensive coordinator in 2011. … As Raiders starter, QB Carson Palmer 2-0 in AFC West road games. … With 330-yard passing game against Texans last week, Broncos QB Peyton Mannnig surpassed Dan Marino for most 300-yard passing games in NFL (64). … Broncos CB Champ Bailey had two INTs in last game vs. Raiders. … Broncos WR Eric Decker had career-high eight catches and 136 yards receiving last week vs. Houston. … Raiders DT Richard Seymour has five career sacks vs. Broncos. … Raiders RB Darren McFadden has rushed for 508 yards and three TDs in Oakland’s last four games against Denver. … While with Colts, Manning won last three starts against Raiders and has 3-2 lifetime record vs. Oakland.

The spread in this game is 6…..

Heres a look at what both teams are saying this week:

Phillip Wheeler on Manning: “I know how good he is, and I wasn’t really good against him in practice, so hopefully I can change that in this game,”
“He made me a great player, just by playing against him, hearing him talk, hearing him talk to his offense. Like pointing out things against the defense when I was on defense. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s looking at that aspect of our defense.’ He made me a great player just being around him.”

Manning on Wheeler:  “He got there and could really run. I’m seeing the things that I saw when he was in Indy – athletic, covers a lot of ground, plays physical. He’s a good player.”

Key Note* Joe Mays of the Broncos had his appeal denied, he is currently suspended for a hit on Texans QB Matt Schaub

PREDICTION: As much as I want to take the Raiders I need to be realistic and being realistic means there is no way Raiders beat the Broncos. Ben Roethlisberger just destroyed the Raiders secondary last week passing for over 400 yards and 4tds. That was Roethlisberger now Raiders need to play the best QB in the history of the NFL. Raiders have the worst CBS in the NFL as seen last week and I believe Manning will have a field day. I only hope that the Raiders can at least keep the score close that way maybe they can pull out a a upset..UPSET that is the word I have a problem with when I’m talking Raiders playing the Broncos. It should never be a upset if Raiders beat the Broncos but Broncos just look so much better than the Raiders right now. Myself and the rest of Raider Nation had a great week but sadly I don’t think we will see two miracles in a row..Of course I will be praying that it is possible but I will not predict with my heart only with my brain…

Broncos 42

Raiders 13
